ABEL Advanced Breathing Equipment (Engineering) Ltd.ABEL Engineering is a fast track concept design and development company. We use modern, advanced and traditional engineering processes and technology for the production and manufacture of specialist equipment. Component design, material selection and engineering processes to be used in production are carefully planed to provide the optimum quality and strength of component whilst remaining economically competitive and aesthetically pleasing. Some of the engineering processes that we use include CAD, CAM, and CNC Routing, 4th Axis, Rotary Milling and Turning, Water Jet Profiling, Ultra Sonic and Thermal Welding and Forming, Injection Moulding, Overlock and Spiral Seam Stitching, Punch Forming and Laser Jet Cutting. Once a suitable concept has been identified and analysed, provisional plans are drawn up for appraisal and possible prototype production. An analysis study is then carried out on these as to the suitability and compatibility of design to concept. Consideration is given to the materials and machining processes required, preliminary estimation of economic viability and costing of initial prototype production is accounted for. First generation prototypes are then made for in house testing and assessment, covering base materials, joining technology, individual component design and compatibility, suitability for use, function, durability, precision, repeatability, quality and general appearance. After a further period of in house function testing and trialing in real, laboratory and simulated situations, to beyond the maximum projected rating for the equipment, any modifications and improvements are incorporated into the design. Once the initial design concept has been updated and renewed, second generation pre-production prototypes are made. These are then put through a further session of testing and trialing by both in house and third party testing facilities. This forms an important development progression of assessment allowing fine tuning of the design before tooling for volume production begins. On completion of this phase, the production phase is started in cycle rates that are set to match expected demand figures. These figures are generated from commercial viability studies previously conducted on the market back in the concept and development stages of the product. At all stages of this procedure a QA system is in place to ensure standards are kept by both ourselves and all our subcontractors. The summary of all this is through a combination of the above and direct marketing, we can get specialist equipment to you at reasonable costing! Regards Dave Metcalfe Company Director
